This was not bad at all. I am a fan of Freebirds and this one had kind of a weird vibe. That was made worse by being the only customer for the first ten minutes or so. I'm a big fan of their steak. My burrito was just OK. I didn't get them this time, but if you're a fan of nachos, keep in mind that they make theirs with cheese sauce, not melted cheese :(

I wanted to try this place for a long time. After going here I will have zero interest to return. They were skimpy on the cheese. Super skimpy. Cheese is an additional charge. Also sour cream cost an extra $1 and they were super skimpy with it is well. In conclusion the food was gross, beans were undercooked and all the food was cold. I feel bad spending ten dollars on the medium size burrito.

I tried this place 3x before I would write a review, hoping it would be better and it wasn't. Chipotle wins hands down. There are more selections but the quantity doesn't exceed to quality. I ordered the steak burrito bowl where there is no tortilla, so everything inside a burrito, in a bowl. The spanish rice was ok, but it was too soft for rice. There was no lettuce and they charge extra for sour cream. I just came from the gym so maybe sour cream is a no no, HOWEVER, it's free at chipotle . I will not come back here for food again. Go to chipotle. Oh and the staff is very friendly. That's the only reason it deserves a star.

This was the first, and sadly the last time I'll go here. I ordered online for pick up at 7:25 pm. I arrived at 7:22 and was greeted at the door. Unfortunately that was the only good part about my experience. The restaurant was virtually empty. A couple sitting at one table and a family of three were having their orders made. There were 3 employees standing there looking at me standing at the take out counter. Nobody said a word to me until the family's order was complete. Finally they asked if they could help me. After I told them my name and I had ordered online, they looked behind them, and my order was still on the printer. It was then 7:26 pm. So as I sat at a table to wait for my order, again in a nearly empty restaurant, the table I sat at was filthy. I included a picture on the page. Finally my order was brought to me with apologies for the wait. No offer of discount, no complementary side or beverage... Just an insincere "sorry for the wait." It was 7:35 pm. I was hoping the food would at least be the savior, but after eating my burrito, unfortunately I couldn't add a star back to the rating. The top half of my burrito was rice, the bottom half was all meat, like it was rolled sideways. Change some things and perhaps I'll consider coming back... But I'll probably just somewhere else.

Ordered for my office to pick up on my lunch break. Ordered 4 meals hours in advance. Went to pick it up and still had to wait 10 min. Got back to the office to find several items missing and one order wrong. Terrible service... Terrible.

It was ok. I got the freebie burritto. It lacked seasoning and flavor. It was a large burritto but because it was so bland, it wasnt very enjoyable. They had a white queso sauce that was really good. I had that with chips and salsa.

Yet another burrito joint like Chipolte or Cafe Rio. There was nothing about Freebirds that elevated it above the other similar places, in fact, the food was on the bland side.

While I feel like the bazillion options for burrito fillings is kinda cool, it borders on excessive. If you've ever was my reviews for a certain soup and sandwich chain in utah, you will know that being asked a million questions while going down a line rally, really bugs me. Here you will get a barrage of questions. Annoying as it is, you can get your food exactly how you want it. I have been here a couple of times now and still haven't come up with a combo that is truly crave worthy to me, but it was tasty and filling. The BBQ sauce was super tasty but I'm not sure where it fits in with the food. I wouldn't throw BBQ sauce on my burrito but maybe some people do? I love the concept of this place. I even enjoy seeing all the tatted up workers with gauges running the place. The foil sculptures are probably what won me over, though. On our last visit I couldn't help but add a slice of foil pizza to the collection.

The burrito was huuuuge. I don't really get the Chipoltle hype.. and this was much nether than Chipoltle. The cayenne tortilla was good and the cane asada tasted good. Not a bad lunch.. just don't expect anything authentic Mexican.

To start off on a positive note, the employees were extremely nice, helpful and the service was fast. The decor was perfectly designed for the theme that is freebirds. That is where the positive ends. I went with two co-workers, and we all ordered different thingsand none of us left pleased. I had the Freebird burrito and took a few bites and couldn't handle how awful it was. None of the ingredients tasted fresh (I should've known when the guacamole came out of a squeeze tube-gross). Everything just seemed a day old or that it had been sitting out for days, even though we went for lunch around 11:30. For your money and a delicious meal, id walk a bit further to Cafe Rio.

This was our first-time trying this place and we had been wanting to try it for a while. Sadly after our first experience we can not recommend this place to anyone. When we first walked in we were glad to see very few people in line and even less at the tables. We figured it was just good timing and we got there during the slow time just before a dinner rush. We were wrong! We quickly noticed that there was only one employee working the counter and there were five people ahead of us. Things were moving slow with only one server. Soon after, a second server showed up for work and started helping, one would think thus would now double the speed of service. It did not. We continued waiting and watched as they ran out of rice, with none being prepared in the back and no sign that they even had any in stock. Many other supplies ran out but had replacements the staff was just slow to replace them. We ordered our meals finally and after 30+ min we finally sat down to eat. I was very hopeful, I had ordered the nachos and was able to build them my way so I figured they would be pretty decent. Wrong again! The chips were average, almost store bought type. The steak was OK, but not very flavorful. I went with the queso as my cheese, again not all that great. My wife got a chicken burrito and was not happy as well, she said it was like warm/cold by the time she started eating it. The only cool thing about this place was the tin foil sculptures people had made and left all around.

We drove past Freebirds a couple times and my wife kept telling me we needed to try it. Finally decided to stop by it and it happened to be the grand opening of this location. It's really similar to other mexican places like chipotle. You pick your burrito and go down the line ordering your choices. But biggest differences I found were that you first had 4 different burrito sizes to choose from and there double choices of add on items. I liked all the options for filling. There was a lot of stuff to choose from like roast veggies and garlic, sauces, and of course meats. All these options mean you end up being asked a lot of questions by the person making it though. I didn't like how much rice they out in their monster size burrito. The burrito ended up tasting great even so, and will definitely be back again.

Absolutely terrible - my office was working late last night, and knew we'd need to eat in. This place had opened recently nearby, so we thought we'd try it. We submitted an order for six people early in the day for 5:00 pickup. When I went to pick it up, nobody was at the counter, and when someone finally bothered to come up, I was greeted with "oh, were we supposed to be making something?" 30 min later (90 % of this preptime from them, as our office is less than a mile away), our food was ready and back at the office. To our dismay, despite charging almost the same amount as the nearby Cafe Rio, the portions were about 1/3 the size. Somehow, the food was mostly cold despite having just been made. Even if it had been hot, it would have been terrible -wilted lettuce, next to no meat (even on items where double meat was paid for, it appeared we got the same tiny portion of meat), bland seasoning (my order was supposedly with their "death" sauce on a "cayenne" tortilla -it tasted like ketchup on an orange-dyed piece of flatbread -no spice whatsoever). Even from a technical perspective, the food was appalling - if you're going to put your rice (which appeared to be the white rice you'd scrape out of the bottom of a Chinese food container) on a quesadilla (rather than having it as a side like most other places) , the amount of cheese to hold everything together would have to increase in order to hold together at all. It disintegrated the moment I tried to pick it up -it's not a taco! To cap it off, once I got home that night (~5 hours later), I spent the rest of my evening sick due to whatever else the did (or failed to do, like cook it fully) to their food. Normally I'd blame any stomach discomfort on having overindulged somewhere, but having eaten nothing else but my meager portion that evening, I instead got the unique feeling of being both hungry and queasy all night. In short: bad service, bad food, bad price, bad portions, bad quality control. Avoid at all costs.

Tried once again thinking possibly last time was just a bad day for this place, as I walked up they are playing nasty foul music outside, walked inside and the same foul nasty music is playing so loud I couldn't enjoy lunch if I tried. Walked out and went to Noodles and Company a couple doors down for a nice enjoyable lunch.

I love the way they wrap the burrito's! Their tortilla chips are great with all the sauces available. I enjoyed the interior décor, especially the Jimi Hendrix memorabilia. Overall, this place is never packed which is awesome, and you can order the size of your burrito according to your appetite.

Hey folks time to pull out the stretch pants because this food gets an A in my grade book. Free unlimited toppings? You're kidding right? No. The burritos to some people seem a bit pricey but for all the toppings and a huge burrito stuffed with what I like to call love, it's worth it. Their salsa is fresh and not watery. Try their pico! It's not salty, a little spicy and goes great with everything. Good thing I got sweat pants for Xmas

Love their chips and queso and all of the different types of tortillas that you can choose from.

It is a rare thing for me to give a place a one star review. A joint really needs to work to earn that one star rating. We got to Freebirds in the middle of Sunday afternoon, around 2. A couple people were ahead of us, but we figured that wouldn't be an issue. Ten minutes later and the person ahead of us was finally ordering. Another ten minutes later and they finally got around to helping us. The thing was no one bothered saying something like, "we'll be right with you" or acknowledged that people were waiting to order. When one is waiting that long and the prep area is out where you can see it you'd think you'd mind how things ought to be kept; containers of cheese was sitting on a prep counter rather than being in the refrigerator. They remained there for at least as long as we were there. The trays they prepared the food on they simply wiped off with a dirty rag rather than washing them. That was disturbing to me. Are they wiping the tables with that same rag? Nothing like a side of food poisoning with your lunch. I ordered the two taco combo. It was mediocre, I guess. I would strongly encourage a taco cart to park in the same parking lot because they do it better for a lot less. The salsa was mediocre; I think they just dumped a jar of store brand salsa in a blender to smooth out the consistency. My partner had a chicken burrito. The funny thing was, even though we saw the server put the chicken on the burrito, it seemed to disappear. There simply wasn't more than a couple pieces of the chicken to be found. By the time we got to a table in the non-busy establishment our food was warm-- not hot. Halfway through the burrito my partner said it was cold; not even lukewarm. He took the frequent buyer card to the counter and said that the food was a disappointment. As he was walking back to me I saw the two servers laugh and high five each other. I guess their intention is to give the worst possible customer service and ruin the business for the owner. If that's what they're going for then they'll succeed in short order.

Service was extremely slow and they ran out of items. They were not well stocked or had enough staff. Food was not very warm or that great. I would rather have gone somewhere where I know the food and service are much better.

We went and it wasn't super crowded but their food is soo good. I am still amazed with how they cram all the stuff you pick in to the burritos :)

COLD BURRITO!!! We won't be back. Queso was so cold it was pretty much solid. It's not like we waited a while to eat either. Stone cold right off the bat. Chips were ok.

Very cool atmosphere! It's like they took a Subway, made it about burritos, and used crazy good ingredients. Was quick and delicious. Will be going back often for lunch.

Mediocre food at best. Prep area was filthy, the trays they prep the food on were wiped off with a rag in between customers. I wouldn't recommend, at least not at this location.

This place is taking over but I'm not sure it's in a totally good way. Much like other assembly line burrito factories such as Chipotle, Café Rio, and Costa Vida, this is NOT real Mexican food. Therefore, I will not rate this for its authenticity but rather overall taste and quality. I ordered the Hybrid (small) Grass-fed Steak on Whole Wheat burrito (no extras). It set me back $7.32 YIKES! The staff was nice and played on a hippie-like niche. The ingredients looked and tasted good but there was nothing spectacular about it. I was hoping to stumble across something special, something that would differentiate it from other places just like it. Maybe it was me that set high expectation but it was only just "ok". Would I eat there again? I guess. I would be just as likely to eat at Café Rio or any place like it.

I honestly feel bad for all these people with horrid reviews. The food here is fantastic. My only problem was the wait time. There was only two girls working and it was a Sunday. The service is the reason I am writing this. Because I had to wait, the server (who was there an hour longer than she should have been) gave me extra guacamole and a new bag of chips because there were two LITTLE burnt pieces in the first bag. I thought the place looked nice. I will be back again.

I loved this place!!!!! I picked the hybrid size, which is their smallest. It really is huge. I can't imagine getting a larger size. It took me two settings to eat this bad boy. You get several choices of tortillas and I went with the spinach which was yummy. It comes with a nice array of toppings and you go down the line "subway" style. The creamy pinto beans are a must and the peppers were great. Thick , sweet peppers. For an extra $2.99, you can add a drink and chips with guacamole. This was a great addition. By the soda fountain, you can get additional salsa. When I saw the barbecue one, I couldn't imagine what that would taste Ike on a burrito. This barbecue sauce is different in color and texture from what I was expecting and all I can say is you MUST try it. I loved how it brought out the richness of this already Delish burrito. When I'm n the mood for a hearty burrito, this will be my to go place.

A little late, but I ordered two entrees to go and as many reviews, I will never return. I rather go to Café Rio and get "quick fix Mexican" than coming back here. If there was a choice between this place and Chipotle and they were the only choice, I would go to Chipotle over and over! : (

A bit pricey, but good stuff!!! Tons of options to make your perfect, custom burrito. I also love how you unwrap as you go, keeping everything together nicely. I ate it at my desk with no utensils, and no mess.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
